Our Services:
A comprehensive agreement between you and your future spouse which discloses to each other your premarital assets and debts, explains how your property will be shared once you are married, and details how your property will be divided in the event of divorce or death. We will provide you with all of your options, customize the agreement for your needs, and answer any questions you have for one flat fee. Then, we will work with any opposing counsel (it is highly recommended that your fiance have independent counsel) to get the agreement signed without undermining your relationship.
If your fiance has asked you to agree to a prenuptial agreement, we can help. We suggest taking the ball to your court and having us draft the agreement. We will work with your future spouse's counsel to ensure the agreement is thorough and fair. We can also review and advise you on an agreement prepared by your partner's counsel. Note that review and negotation of another lawyer's agreement will be charged on an hourly basis.
In co-habitation situations, there are no state-sponsored laws to opt out of. Rather, you are both creating rights for each other by entering into a contract which discloses each of your assets and debts, explains how your finances will be shared, and how you intend to divide your finances upon your separation or death. Please note this service is not available in Georgia.

Our Rates:
We try to avoid the billable hour conflict by charging you a flat rate wherever possible. That way, you never need to hesitate when you need our advice. Your flat rate will be based on the complexity of your agreement, and will include all research, drafting, and consultations between you and Shulman Legal for the first year your agreement is in place. There will never be any hidden charges, and we will do our best to advise you in advance for any extraneous fees you may be charged.
Postnuptial Agreements and Amendment s
Many couples are now entering into agreements after marriage to clarify their intentions, or when life circumstances change. Like a prenup, a couple can opt out or override state marital laws with a postnuptial agreement and create their own financial contract. These agreements are an excellent way to provide security and clarity to a couple who intend to remain in an viable marriage, and at the same time, ensure an inevitable divorce is less costly and less divisive.
